2. Which organization did you choose to focus on and why?
We choose China Youth Development Foundation because they have goals that are achievable and they are devoted to the idea of education for all. Also not only do they focus on education for all, but they work on digital divide too, for example, donating computers to schools and constructing labs.
3. What exactly are they doing to try and combat or change your issue?
They build or help improve poor schools and also they donate money to the schools to help them buy standard materials like books, pencils etc. They also donate computers and laptops to schools to create a standard computer lab so the children at those schools have access to computers and internet. They also have a program called Stars of Hope Scholarship Program, the fund gives the children scholarships to enable to continue schooling or pursue higher education since many children do not have enough many to fulfill their dreams and go to a university. The level of sponsorship is:
Primary School- RMB 1,000 per student
Junior High School- RMB 2,000 per student
Senior High School- RMB 3,000 per student
College/University- RMB 4,000 per student
4. What are some of the things you like about their program?
What I like about this program is that they have really good ideas to help many children who do not have money to afford a good education. China Youth Development Foundation is also a good foundation to help the children have a good future with their education and after going to the university, they could get a good job and have a family. It also gives them the opportunity to learn how to use new resources and try new technology.
